Housebuilders and RSLs

The Code for Sustainable Homes logoWith the introduction of The Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH), housebuilders and RSLs alike are expected to reduce the carbon emission value of new homes.  Currently, any social housing schemes are required to achieve CfSH Level 3, whereas it is voluntary for any new homes built in the private sector to achieve CfSH Level 1.  However, it is proposed from 2010 that all social housing schemes will be required to achieve CfSH Level 4 and any new homes in the private sector to achieve a reduction in CO2 emissions equivalent to CfSH Level 3 (25% on Part L 2006).

With the higher levels of the CfSH and the requirement to reduce CO2 emissions this will in turn create a greater need for renewable technologies to satisfy energy requirements. Specification standards for new-build homes have significantly increased in recent years allowing renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels together with underfloor heating to integrate seamlessly into highly insulated properties.

Nu-Heat has a full range of products to assist in satisfying planning requirements or the more demanding Building Regulations:
