EnergyMaster™2 cylinder, principle of operation

The Nu-Heat EnergyMaster2™ integrated thermal store cylinder will reduce heating bills, improve energy efficiency and give you a faster performing, more responsive underfloor heating system.



In a mains pressure hot water system, such as the EnergyMaster2™, the flow from the hot water tap is as powerful as that from the cold and there is no need for a storage tank in the roof.



By storing hot water for both the underfloor heating and domestic hot water, the EnergyMaster2™ prevents boiler ‘cycling’ – this happens when heat delivered from the boiler at full power cannot be used quickly, making the boiler fire up in frequent, short bursts. Only when the EnergyMaster2™ temperature eventually drops below a preset level will the boiler start up to reheat the cylinder, thereby working more efficiently, reducing running costs and carbon emissions, reducing breakdowns and promoting longevity with smoother boiler operation.



The EnergyMaster2™ has boiler connections located at the top and bottom of the cylinder where they are most effective. Warm water stored at the bottom of the cylinder runs through the floor heating before being pumped back to the cylinder and then on to the boiler, which is able to run in its more efficient ‘condensing mode’. Newly heated boiler water for domestic use is pumped back into the top of the cylinder and through a plate heat exchanger before repeating the cycle.
