Cylinder zone valve

Electrically operated valve, controlled by the cylinder thermostat. This is positioned on the pipework between the cylinder and the boiler. It opens when the cylinder demands heat, and then closes once it is up to temperature, so preventing overheat. Earlier EnergyMasterâ„¢ cylinders (without shunt pump on the side of the cylinder) used Cimberio full-bore zoned valves, whilst later EnergyMasterâ„¢ cylinders used a more conventional 28mm spring-to-close valve with end switch.
