Compression Fittings

Type of pipe fitting, the connections of which comprise a brass or copper ‘olive’ which compresses between the fitting and a nut. When the olive deforms it should seal against the pipe and the fitting, however plumbers will often use PTFE tape, or a proprietary sealer as well.
