Heat Pump

A Heat Pump is an alternative way of supplying hot water to your underfloor heating system instead of using a traditional boiler. Their efficiency comes from using the large amount of low-grade heat energy contained in either the air (air source) or ground (ground source) and converting into a higher temperature of up to 45 degrees C. Because of the lower temperatures they are ideally used with underfloor heating (traditional radiator systems use 80 deg C).

The heat pump incororates a compressor which is powered by electricity, and typically generate 3 - 4 kWh for every kWh of electricity consumed.
