Pressure Relief Valve

Pressure relief valves are used as safety valves on sealed systems. For a sealed heating system the valve is normally part of the expansion vessel and is factory set to 3 bar. If the operating pressure exceeds this the valve will lift and release pressure. In accordance with regulations the discharge needs to be taken to a visible but safe place.

For domestic hot water systems using a Nu-Heat Aquastar Secondary Hot Water Loop a 6 bar pressure relief valve is supplied along with the 2 litre potable water expansion vessel. In accordance with regulations the discharge needs to be taken to a visible but safe place.
