Underfloor heating blending valve

Underfloor heating generally runs with an entry water temperature of 55-60ºC. Boilers produce anything up to 80ºC. In order to acheive the lower underfloor temperature colder water returning from the underfloor circuits is mixed with the boiler water by the underfloor blending valve.

There are two varieties of blending valve - with later manifold system the valve will be attached to the manifold; with earlier manifold systems and zone valve systems the valve will be in the pipework leading between the boiler and underfloor.
