A ONEZONE system produces a maximum heat output of 70 w/m2 in floating floors. You must ensure this meets the heating requirement of the room and that the boiler has sufficient capacity.

For optimum performance hard surfaces such as ceramic tiles, slate, stone and marble are recommended as they provide the best transfer of heat.
Timber floor can be used, provided that the timber is well seasoned or kiln dried (

Although carpets resist heat transfer more than other coverings, if simple guidelines are followed, the efficiency of the underfloor heating will not be affected. The combined value of carpet and underlay should not exceed 2.5 tog (
