Celotex Insulation

Celotex Insulation

With a history of continuous innovation throughout its 80-year history, Celotex was very quick to recognise the valuable contribution that its boards could make in the underfloor heating field. The company has built on its early lead and enjoyed widespread success in this key application sector ever since.

Backed by many decades of manufacturing expertise, Celotex tuff-R GA3000 boards offer excellent thermal conductivity performance. Thermal conductivity is the rate at which heat passes through a material and is of critical importance in any insulation application. The lower the rate of thermal conductivity, the more efficient is an insulant in fulfilling its role.

Celotex tuff-R GA3000 boards have an exceptionally low thermal conductivity (or lambda value) of just 0.023 W/mK (Watts per metre Kelvin). The result of this is that, thickness for thickness, Celotex tuff-R GA3000 boards are about twice as efficient as many other insulants, enabling comparatively thin constructions to be specified.

Furthermore, Celotex tuff-R GA3000 boards are fully CE marked. The value of CE marking is that the customer is provided with clear, concise product information that measures the performance of the product against recognised international standards. In this way the builder and end user can more accurately compare seemingly similar products and be sure that the product delivered to site matches what was originally specified and fully conforms to current Building Regulations.

With such a significant performance advantage, Celotex is able to offer UFH users a highly effective insulation solution that facilitates relatively shallow floor depths, requiring minimal excavation.

To offer maximum efficiency, UFH systems should have the insulation located below the heating system. This minimises downwards heat loss into the structure.

Celotex tuff-R GA3000 boards have zero ozone depletion potential (Zero ODP). They are inherently resistant to high temperatures and their foil facings help to ensure very long lasting and consistent thermal performance whilst also reflecting heat upwards and back into the living space. Dimensionally stable and unaffected by temperature cycles, Celotex tuff-R GA3000 is a robust and durable material that is simple to cut to shape.
