When self builder Mark Bigwood decided to embark on the project of a lifetime and convert an old barn into a stunning home for the twenty-first century, he chose to fit a Nu-Heat warm water underfloor heating system. Little did he realise that it would be the start of a long-term relationship.
Mark, who is also a plumber in his spare time, was so impressed with the quality of the product and ease of installation, he has recommended Nu-Heat to many more of his customers both for conversions and new-build projects as well as refurbishments and small conservatory extensions. He is about to install a full system in a unique 1970s, architect-designed, split-level house in Bristol. As the floors will be lifted to incorporate sound proofing to the ground floor bedrooms, it is an ideal opportunity to fit warm water underfloor heating between the joists. Careful planning and coordinating with other contractors means minimum disruption for the owners who will be living in the property whilst the refurbishment takes place.
When asked why he keeps coming back to Nu-Heat, Mark says, "I am a great believer in sticking with a product I know and trust. I have always had a good service from Nu-Heat and I can pass that experience on to my customers."
On the subject of his own barn Mark says, "Everyone who comes to our home tells us it has the 'wow' factor. I am not really sure what that is, to us it is just a warm and comfortable home. Underfloor heating is a good choice for anyone with high or open-vaulted ceilings as the heat stays where you need it without disappearing up towards the roof and with a combination of carpet, timber and stone floors we really appreciate the warmth underfoot."
