The Amos family completed their beautiful self build barn conversion project in Monmouth over 18 months ago and installed Nu-Heat underfloor heating throughout the whole house. We asked Sue Amos for a report on the system:

"This is our second winter now and I must say we are extremely impressed. Hubby tells me we barely seem to use any oil at all even though we have to heat over 3,500 sq ft! And I can tell you the house is deliciously warm, yet not with the suffocating kind of heat you can get with radiators. We feel that the house is probably at a cooler overall temperature than we have had in the past in a house heated with radiators and yet we feel more comfortable.

I am convinced that the main reason for this level of comfort is due to the heat coming up from the floor, rather than heat from radiators which raises to the ceiling and then disperses downwards as the temperature rises, leaving the feet colder than the head.

Believe me, and our many visitors who have commented, it is very noticeably more pleasant this way round. And for the children, who spend most of their time on the floor pushing toys about, it is luxury indeed!

I must add though that our decision to have Nu-Heat was not based on the economical benefits but the aesthetic advantages and the promise of a different kind of warmth.

Our plumber/electrician had no trouble installing it and Nu-Heat has been magnificent with their help and advice.

All in all it has been a great success and we would recommend Nu-Heat to anybody. So all you ditherers, take the plunge and go for it. You'll never regret it."
