Please note the LCBP programme is now closed. This information will remain on our site purely as reference for people who are already involved in the grant process
Until recently, the grants system has been unpredictable, with some customer claims proving successful and others being deferred until the following month. With the monthly cap of £500,000 running out within hours of the opening dates, the system has proved unworkable and the allocation of funds was suspended for the month of April. The scheme has now been re-launched with the monthly cap removed and all applications can be completed online, with an instant response. Full details are available at http://www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk/how/householders/ Important information detailed under the programme that should be taken into account when planning your installation/application is as follows:-
No monthly cap
Once the scheme re-opens for applications, household grants will be allocated on a first come, first served basis as long as funds last. There will be no further funds and no further measures to extend the scheme life.
Amount of grants available
Ground source heat pumps: Overall maximum of £1,200 or 30% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is lower
Air source heat pumps: Overall maximum of £900 or 30% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is lower
Shorter grant offer periods Under the re-launched scheme, grant offer periods will be as follows: Ground Source Heat Pump and Biomass will be given 6 months.
Planning permission Householders must have any required planning consents in place before applying to the scheme.
