The large number of Robust Detail (RD) separating floor constructions available means that selecting the most appropriate option can be challenging – but the good news for house builders is that Nu-Heat and Knauf have pioneered ATA(K) 14, an RD approved floor construction incorporating underfloor heating.
ATA(K) 14 uses a new acoustic gypsum BRIO board made by Knauf that is easily able to tolerate the heat generated by underfloor heating – unlike traditional plasterboard which, over time, may disintegrate. Because BRIO board is thermally tolerant, it can be placed on top of the floor heating tube.
ATA(K) 14 is RD approved, meaning no completion tests are necessary – saving valuable time and money for the house builder.
