EnergyPro® Solar Thermal – new range, new price, same outstanding quality

Nu-Heat has introduced new Solar Thermal panels to their EnergyPro® range, offering installers the same outstanding quality at a lower price; 30% less than before!

A Solar Thermal system, such as EnergyPro®, uses solar panels to collect heat from the sun. The energy captured from this process is then used to heat water.  Solar energy is an unlimited resource that produces no harmful emissions and requires no transportation or supply pipelines.

Due to the increasing demand for Solar Thermal systems, Nu-Heat has utilised their buying power to purchase the new EnergyPro® Solar panels at a great price, passing savings back down to the customer.

Nu-Heat’s EnergyPro® Solar Thermal range is MCS certified and can be fitted independently or be integrated with an underfloor heating system and/or heat pumps. The flat plate panels are made by a leading European manufacturer and utilise the latest collector technology to maximise performance. All components are designed, manufactured and rigorously tested to the highest standard.

Installing a Nu-Heat EnergyPro® Solar Thermal system is quick and easy with the majority of properties not requiring planning permission to do so. The new EnergyPro® panels are also eligible for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) until March 2014 and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) when fitted by an MCS approved installer.

Key features include:

  • Toughened safety glass
  • Roof surface-mounted and integral roof-mounted flat panels available
  • 10 year warranty on parts and labour
  • Eligible for RHPP and RHI
  • MCS and Solar Keymark certification

The financial support available to a homeowner through schemes such as the RHPP and the RHI are great reasons to recommend this technology to your customers.  A well engineered Solar Thermal system can generate up to 60% of a household’s domestic hot water needs on average – a major incentive for any homeowner.

Cut heating costs with the help of Smart Controls

Many of us are guilty of using more energy than is actually necessary to keep our homes warm and in the past, the way in which we’ve controlled our heating systems has often been overlooked.  This is now changing and more attention is being paid to the part sensible and designed control can play in maximising a system’s efficiency.   Increasingly, homeowners are looking for simple ways to manage their heating system to ensure it is working as efficiently as possible.

Controlling a heating system remotely is now an option for many homeowners: offering great flexibility as well as reduced running costs.  Remote access to your heating controls ensures that rooms are heated only when needed.  For example; if you are going to be home later than expected, you can change the time your heating is due to switch on, saving energy.

Nu-Heat’s networkable thermostats can be installed with underfloor heating in each room, meaning individual room temperatures can be independently controlled from one single Smart Control – or even a smartphone.  The flexibility to control room temperatures separately enables ‘fine tuning’, giving the homeowner perfect comfort with improved system controllability.

A recent article by BBC Business touched on ‘how smartphones can cut heating bills by a quarter’ with one user already experiencing savings of 20%-30% thanks to managing their heating system remotely.

Nu-Heat’s Netmonitor+ and free Smartphone App allow an underfloor heating system to be controlled remotely through a PC or via Smartphone.

Netmonitor+ features include:

  • Flexible programming modes – create a heating schedule to best fit your lifestyle
  • Exact temperature settings for each room
  • Up to 4 time and temperature changes allow flexible control
  • Optimum start calculates the amount of heat up time required to ensure warmth when needed and automatically adjusts throughout the year
  • Free app which gives a real-time temperature display

Nu-Heat wins Build It Awards with LoPro10

Nu-Heat is delighted to have won Best Plumbing Product with their LoPro10™ underfloor heating solution at the Build It Awards 2013.

LoPro10 over a solid floor

The Build It Awards (in conjunction with Build It Magazine) celebrate all aspects of self build and renovation including completed projects, products, services and suppliers. The awards bring together architects, manufacturers and key industry figures in recognition of innovation and excellence in the custom home sector.

Why Build It love this product:

“This system is ideal for home improvers.  It solves the problem of installing UFH in renovation properties and is quick and easy to fit – as well as being cost effective.”

The biggest challenge to installing underfloor heating in an existing building is often height build-up. In response, Nu-Heat developed LoPro10™, a floating floor with just 15mm height build up and excellent thermal properties that can be fitted on top of the existing floor deck.

LoPro10™ is a composite gypsum construction with one-third less thermal mass than a screed floor, allowing it to heat up and cool down rapidly – making it more economical for retrofit properties and giving quick response times. Its low thermal resistance and high mass (15,5kg/m2) provide a high thermal output and solid feel underfoot.

The judges commented that “Nu-Heat won the category because LoPro10™ met a real customer need with a truly innovative product design and solution.”

Nu-Heat has over 60 floor constructions available including screed, floating, joisted and retrofit solutions; demonstrating their Product Development teams’ innovative thinking around floor constructions.

Step-by-step – the easiest way to install Nu-Heat’s LoPro10® retrofit UFH

Step-by-step – the easiest way to install Nu-Heat’s LoPro®10 retrofit UFH

    1. Clear the floor area, repair and level the floor as required using self-leveling compound or replace/screw down uneven suspended timber floors.
    2. Lay pre-routed panel and castellated panel for pipe run back to manifold following the system design drawing supplied.
    3. Lay ‘pipe run’ panel where shown on the design drawing. This panel gives plenty of flexibility to install multiple pipes back to the manifold.
    4. Run 10mm pipe from the manifold to each designed zone.
    5. Fill and pressure test the system. This is a crucial part of any UFH installation as it ensures the system is watertight before final floor finishes are laid.
    6. Lay self-leveling compound to cover edge ‘pipe run’ panel and leave to dry for 24hrs.
