Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems Course – 2 Days

Created with the input of members from both CIPHE and the Heat Pump Association, this new accredited course is aimed at plumbers and heating engineers looking to understand the need and requirements for installing low temperature heating and hot water systems.

Accredited course

This course is for qualified plumbers and heating engineers (minimum Level 2) or heating installers with experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification, Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration.

This course covers

  • The latest industry standards and regulatory framework relating to heating design.
  • The requirements for undertaking a room-by-room heat loss for a property.
  • How to correctly size heat emitters for low temperature heating systems.
  • How to correctly size pumps and pipework.
  • How to correctly size a domestic hot water system.
  • The basic design principles of system configurations.

Prerequisites

Candidates should have at least one of the following:

  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Industrial and Commercial Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • Heating installers with experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration.
