Heat Pump Partnerships
Market Diversification
Despite the economic downturn, Nu-Heat has experienced rocketing sales, with the first six months of the fiscal year showing a 70% increase in heat pump orders compared to the previous year – no mean feat in a depressed market – and offering an exciting future for qualified renewables installers.
Although initial demand for heat pumps was stimulated by the new build sector, Nu-Heat expects future growth to be fuelled by activity in the commercial and retrofit markets, and heat pump sales to double in 2010 as a direct result.
Government grants have encouraged homeowners to look at low-carbon home and hot water heating solutions, and grant schemes have helped to make high-tech energy-saving systems more affordable. Public sector house builders are also increasingly turning to renewables to meet mandatory energy-saving targets under the Code for Sustainable Homes. Added to this, the commercial sector – schools, warehouses, offices and hospitals, etc – has also been given a cash injection from government making renewable technologies more appealing.

HITACHI
Hitachi Europe Ltd., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., Japan. With headquarters in Maidenhead, UK, it has operations in 13 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and employs approximately 550 people.
Nu-Heat’s Hitachi air source heat pump features inverter driven compressor, built-in frost protection, auto summer switch-off, a one-touch holiday button and a screed drying function making it ideal for new builds. Each unit also carries a five-year warranty.
The Stiebel Eltron models are of particular interest to installers working on commercial heat pump contracts as they can be fitted in cascades to provide an output of up to 500kW. Another benefit of the Stiebel range of air source heat pumps is the ability to site them inside the building – a real advantage when retrofitting heat pumps into urban areas where external positioning may not be possible.

Stiebel Eltron
STIEBEL ELTRON provides low carbon technical solutions in: domestic hot water, air source and ground source heat pumps, air-conditioning and central heating.
Nu-Heat’s experience of underfloor heating and its integration with energy-efficient technologies ensures complete project support and valuable peace-of-mind for any installer considering them for the first time. We supply comprehensive installation manuals with bespoke mechanical and electrical drawings as well as technical backup should it be needed and we can now offer over eight hundred system variants – meaning even more project design solutions.
Both site and commissioning support is part of the package on Nu-Heat’s entire range of heat pumps. We also supply all major component connections (both electrical and plumbing), switch gear valves, expansion vessels, pressure testing kits and ground loop (for ground source) with every heat pump. The only additional materials installers need to provide are the basic sundries and associated cabling and supply pipe – making working with new technology as straightforward as possible – and avoiding time wasting trips back and forth to merchants.
Buying both the heat pump and heating system from one supplier means that the products will be totally compatible, there is just one point of contact for the installer – and no conflicting advice, something not readily available in the current market place.
Nu-Heat will showcase much of the new equipment in our Training Centre, where NICEIC-backed renewables training courses in heat pump installation, solar thermal and underfloor heating are available to industry professionals.
