Due to the new Part L regulations, many new apartment developments will struggle to get planning approval using electric heating. However Geminox has now introduced the award-winning Modusat unit to the UK market. The Modusat is the ideal solution to provide flats and apartments with independent fast-recovery hot water and high efficiency heating.
With the in-built energy meter, Geminox provides a total package which can provide simple read-only meters or a complete remote billing solution using M-BUS communication to provide the end user with an itemised energy bill.
The Modusat unit consists of a fast recovery hot water tank, hydraulic header and pump and mixing valve set for the heating, together with an energy meter to enable a total billing solution for the amount of energy each flat or apartment uses.
The Modusat is powered by main heating primaries from a centralised plant package. Whilst Geminox can provide the boiler plant to power the Modusat, the centralised plant can also be CHP or any other suitable heat source, which is in line with latest legislation encouraging centralised plant instead of electric heating and hot water.
The Modusat does not require a flue, fuel supply or ventilation and has very minimal maintenance requirements. There are no restrictions as to the number of units that can be installed on one system and for larger four bathroom apartments you can simply install two of the 150 litre units side by side.
